Welcome to “William Lai Alumni-Wing Chun” (WLA-Wing Chun). We are a group of people from Sheffield (United Kingdom) passionate about practicing and teaching Wing Chun, a Chinese martial art passed to us by our Sifu (teacher) William Lai.
Wing Chun focuses on mobilising the biomechanical and elastic properties of the human body, fuelled by relaxation, to strike or control an opponent with a concise set of techniques. Practitioners learn how to focus their mind, develop their sensitivity and mobilise their body weight behind their moves. This allows them to respond in a timely and effective way without pre-empting or relying on pre-defined combinations of moves.
If you are interested in learning more about Wing Chun and the origins of our class, please read the About section.
If you would like to join us, please read the Training section carefully before contacting us.
